#SKINFORMED / Dehydration, enlarged pores and signs of aging

Petra V., 32 years old

Skin type : Combination

Main skin challenges : non-inflammatory acne (closed comedones and blackheads), brown spots (from the sun, pregnancy, hormonal contraceptives...), skin texture (pores), dehydration (flaking and tightening), surface wrinkles

Describe your skin : what do you want to work on?

"I have mixed, superficially dehydrated skin with enlarged pores. I need a proposal for the entire routine. I want to work on cleaning pores as efficiently as possible and reducing them (if possible), good hydration with regard to superficial dehydration and a preventive anti-aging routine with regard to the first wrinkles around the eyes and on the forehead ."

Enlarged pores and how to treat them?

When we talk about skin irregularities, enlarged pores are often mentioned along with acne, comedones and blemishes. While acne, comedones and blemishes can in most cases be completely removed with a specific care routine and lifestyle changes, it is important to emphasize that pores are not undesirable and we cannot get rid of them. In fact, it's the other way around, because the pores represent the natural texture of the skin , that is, the opening of the hair canal. In mixed and oily skin types, they are more visible for a simple reason: more sebum flows out of the pores, which over time expands the pores and they become larger. It is important to emphasize that pores cannot disappear, but their appearance can be visually reduced with suitable products. The most ideal products for this purpose are exfoliants that help keep pores clean and prevent inflammation. We would recommend Lumion to Petra: a chemical exfoliant that contains a potent combination of glycolic and lactic acid and gluconolactone. Lumion simultaneously works to even out skin tone and texture, which includes pores and wrinkles, and at the same time restores a fresh, rested and radiant appearance to the skin.

Dehydration and the first signs of aging

A bonus of a healthy hydrolipidic barrier is that it gives the skin a youthful and clear appearance. Every line and wrinkle on our face will be more noticeable if the skin is not adequately hydrated, regardless of the skin type. For this reason, it is necessary to find a product that will adequately care for the skin, without feeling heavy on the face. If you want smooth and renewed skin with a product that won't clog pores or leave an oily residue, try Cica-Cera cream in your evening routine. With regular use, Cica-Cera strengthens the protective barrier of the skin and helps in the recovery of the skin in inflammatory conditions such as acne, treatment spots and skin irritation. Since Petra notices the first wrinkles around her eyes, we suggest trying Sphynx as well. Sphynx is a cream rich in active ingredients that target the prevention and correction of lines and wrinkles around the eyes. The peptide complex helps to reduce the depth of wrinkles, stimulating the synthesis of collagen and elastin, the structural components of the skin, the production of which declines faster with age.

Skintegra Hyperdew moisturizing face mask

For dehydrated skin, we would additionally recommend the occasional use of a treatment product in the form of a mask. Hyperdew is a mask that does not need to be rinsed off, and when you wake up, it makes the skin noticeably more hydrated, more uniform and smoother. This transparent gel emulsion is the lightest occlusive for the skin and perfectly locks moisture in the skin.

The most important product for the prevention of premature lines, wrinkles and spots is a cream with a protective factor. Namely, UV radiation causes photoaging of the skin, and we can protect ourselves as much as possible by regular, daily use of products with a high protection factor of a broad spectrum, such as Solar I cream. In addition to effectively protecting from the sun, Solar I is enriched with quality moisturizers that also hydrate the skin, so we can present it as a 2 in 1 product for daily care.

In this case, we would also mention gentle, pH-balanced skin cleansing as a very important item. Our skin naturally has an acidic pH of around 5.5, which is why it is necessary to avoid alkaline cleansers and choose pH-optimized products that will not damage the skin's hydrolipidic barrier, or contribute to further drying.

A regular routine, patience and a careful approach are key to long-term fresh and well-groomed skin.
