Skintegra Lumion

€27,00

Skintegra Lumion is a non-drying, night time exfoliant of medium intensity based on AHA and PHA acids. It is intended for all skin types including mature skin, but excluding sensitive skin.  Skin with visible hyperpigmentation marks, including those caused by sun exposure, and skin with impaired texture lacking freshness and luminosity will gain multiple benefits from the use of Lumion.

Formulated with a combination of AHA (lactic and glycolic) and PHA (in the form of gluconolactone), Lumion is highly efficient in exfoliating the surface skin layers, softening hard skin and evening out its tone. As we get older, squamous cells begin to peel less efficiently from the surface of the skin and they need a little assistance to restore their normal desquamation function. Aiding the skin in that natural process, Lumion refines the skin’s texture and evens out its tone. By thorough exfoliation of a medium-strength intensity, Lumion efficiently prepares the skin for the application of other topical products.

In addition to the AHA and PHA complex, the product is enriched with glycerine which hydrates and panthenol and oat extract which soothe the skin. Formulated without the addition of parabens, fragrances, alcohol, artificial dyes and other irritants Lumion is packaged in an elegant glass bottle which guards its ingredients against air and contamination in order to ensure that they remain fresh and highly efficient until used up. Its ingredients are not photosensitive.

  • How to use

Apply every other night (or as tolerated) during evening skincare routine, after cleansing and before moisturizing. Transient tingling of the skin can occur on sensitive skin types because of the low pH. This is expected and it goes away spontaneously as the skin readjusts its own pH within minutes.

  • FAQ

How to decide if I need Clarion or Lumion?

Clarion contains 4% AHA (glycolic acid) and 2% BHA (salicylic acid), whereas Lumion has 5% AHA (blend of lactic and glycolic acid) and 1.58% PHA (gluconolactone). Lumion is an excellent choice if your problems are hyperpigmentation, surface texture (dry bumps and comedones) and dehydration. It is suitable for all skin types. Clarion has anti-inflammatory, sebostatic and decongesting properties, making it the best choice for acne-prone and combination to oily skin.

Lumion is a moderate strength exfoliant. Should I use it if this is my first time trying an acid?

If your barrier function is not damaged and compromised, Lumion can be used as part of a daily skincare routine by everyone. However, we recommend that inexperienced users start by using it no more than every third night. If tolerated, you can increase the frequency. To avoid irritating your skin, make sure to avoid using fragranced moisturiser after exfoliating (both perfumes and essential oils) and also avoid layering strong actives (like retinoids).

Will I experience a purging phase when I start using an exfoliant?

There is a chance you might experience temporary worsening for the first few weeks after starting an exfoliant. This most often happens because of the increased cell turnover rate. Inside individual pores, a microcomedo (often invisible to the naked eye) can get inflamed as it makes its way to the surface. On the other hand, inflammation can also be a sign of skin irritation. Reducing the frequency of exfoliation is one way to relax over-stimulated skin.

Can I use Lumion as a form of contact therapy? Keep it on the skin for 10 minutes and then wash it off & proceed with the rest of my products?

Yes, you can. This can be a good way to introduce exfoliation on sensitive skin. 10 minutes is enough time to encourage desquamation and also reduces the risk of irritation, especially if you follow it up with calming and hydrating products.
